The England manager Fabio Capello has stuck to his guns and will put out an experimental England side for tonights friendly game against Mexico at Wembley.
He has agreed to rst all the players involved in last weekends FA Cup Final, which mean that David James, John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole will not feature at any time.
Wayne Rooney and Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard are expected to lead the attack tonight, with Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe also expected to get a run out at some point.
Arsenal’s Theo Walcott is also going to play a part, and Tom Huddlestone and Aaron Lennon will also be representing Tottenham during the match.
Joe Hart and Robert Green are expected to get 45 minutes each between the sticks, and Glen Johnson, Rio Ferdinand, Leighton Baines, Matthew Upson and Scott Parker will all have a chance to shine.
Mexico are not expected to be pushovers, but with all these fringe players trying desperately to impress Fabio Capello before he makes his final decision on the last 23, I think we could still see an easy win for England.
